Science Slam: Presentation Competition & Event

Along with Tokyo Institute of Technology we are to organise our first “Science Slam” in October.

Students and researchers (PhD and very early Postdoc) will compete to win a free trip to Europe.

A Science Slam is a presentation where researchers present their work in front of a non-expert audience. The focus is on making research interesting, engaging, entertaining and thrilling. The audience will then vote on the best presentation.

The final event will take place on Wednesday, 16 October 2013 at Tokyo Institute of Technology.

Before that, we ask that potential candidates upload a short sample video by 28 September. Our review  panel will then choose the best candidates who will then be invited to Tokyo to compete in the final.

The final will see the audience vote on the best performer. There will also be a reception and some nice networking opportunities.
